HELLO, good evening and welcome to issue 36 of Octopus's Garden, the subzeen with its very own gamestart. An html version of this subzeen is available on the Web at http://www.manorcon.demon.co.uk/octopus/index.html. It's also sent to the TAP mailing list, which you can join automatically by sending the message 'subscribe tap' to majordomo@igo.org. The message 'unsubscribe tap' sent to the same address will get you off the mailing list.
If you want in on the last slot for the TK list, contact me at octopus@manorcon.demon.co.uk.
I will also be looking for stand-bys for both the above games, but we'll get the lists filled first before we worry about that. Houserules are on the web at http://www.manorcon.demon.co.uk/octopus/rr.html, but are pretty much standard British rules (20/10 scoring, enter 4 from 7 races), except I use stand-bys. We won't bother with gamefees or deposits for either of these games.
No letters this time, as I want to get this interim gamestart issue out the door. However, the letter column will return next time, with contributions from Berry Renken, RIP Gooch, Richard Weiss and possibly a few others...
The Players : Conrad von Metzke, Berry Renken, Rip Gooch, Richard Weiss.
Please can everyone let me know their snail-mail address and I will send you the map. As soon as you have the map, let me know, by e-mail to octopus@manorcon.demon.co.uk Once everyone has their map, I'll set a deadline for Round One orders (You all start Newcastle on this map, so there is no need to have a seperate set-up round).
The leapfrog rules are, I hope, pretty standard, but for the avoidance of doubt, the version we will use is from the 5th edition rules in April 1990. There are also a few map clarifications, but these will make more sense once you've actually seen the map, so I'll do those next time.
For reference, your g.m. currently lives in hex L61, but will shortly be moving to hex K62. Don't forget to wave. The previous times he has run this map postally, he has lived in F64 and C72.
